A Palm Oil Mill in Sierra Leone

KP Ng of Kuala Lumpur has supplied me these pictures taken in a mill in Sierra Leone in 2005 by Mr G. J. Ram of Persus Consultancy, Sungai Buloh, Malaysia. I understand that the mill is still 'near operational' (April 2012).

For more information on this equipment, please see http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/history_of_palm_oil.htm (link broken by 25th October 2016). The pictures were rather dark, I have tried to make things a little 'brighter' but please bear with me as they seem to have been scanned off prints.

The mill is described as a 'Pioneer Mill' supplied by 'The United Africa Comapny Ltd'.

An overall view:

The vertical boiler and what I assume is a duplex boiler feedwater pump:

I wouldn't bet against this being a 'bottle Marshall'.

Finally here is Mr. Ram's late engineer with the mill operators and a crowd of young hangers on.
