Brewing up in the platform is 564.01 'Kangar' which is to work the mixed train through to Tumpat, on which Peter would travel. This was a section through which there was no road access at the time and cars were conveyed on flat wagons to and from Kuala Krai to avoid a huge diversion via the coast. (PH)
