The branch south to Ponorogo and Slahung is covered in more detail in the next section. In the following pictures we take a brief look at the first part of it to Ponorogo which was the furthest which the B53 4-4-0s were allowed to work. The B53 locomotive was a superheated development of the B51 compounds with piston valves. B5307 rests at Madiun after arrival from Ponorogo on 20th April 1977. (RD)
