One of the first sights to greet visitors to the Balai Yasar (locomotive works) at Madiun was the giant hulk of DD5103 as it did me on 6th August 1975. Alas it did not survive long enough to be preserved, there being only the European built Mallets now in the museums at Ambarawa and Jakarta. (RD)
