Java is the most densely populated island in the world and until the buses captured the passenger market, trains were always crowded. C2730 waits at Kemayoran on the outskirts of Jakarta on 30th April 1977. The train has picked up more and more passengers as it approached the city and fortunately I was leaving it here because it would have been very difficult to get back on! (RD)
