The staff of the Gondangleggi Bima (the same name as the crack Surabaya Jakarta express) were delighted by the sight of me photographing their train. D1109 sits at a wayside station on the outskirts of Malang on 20th May 1976. On the other side of the road runs the narrow gauge track of Kebonagung sugar mill. (RD)
