DB 99 displays its Dutch origins with an impressive display of brasswork outside its home shed on 28th May 1977. By the time this locomotive was delivered, the company had moved production from Weesp to Amsterdam. DB made less than 400 steam locomotives in all, most went to the then Dutch East Indies and Indonesia is probably the last place in the world where they can be seen still working. (RD) |
