The most unashamedly tourist area on the railway is Huangcun where visitors can get more than a hint of what working life is like underground. While the main deep mine here was closed 20 years ago, the smaller mine above the station is allowed to continue operation in most likely more primitive style as long as it can maintain its safety record. How many visitors make the connection is questionable...
