The Peru Central has cleared the use of No. 206, a 2-8-0 Beyer Peacock built in 1937 to pull a Trains Unlimited, Tours charter on August 16 1999 from San Bartolome (location of the first switchback) and for several hours up the hill into the Andes out of San Bartolome. No. 206 will be put on the train at San Bartolome. Also No. 206 will pull a short photo freight in the Lima area on August 15th. The Huancayo & Huancavelica Railroad management has said they will make some repairs on No. 107, a 2-8-0 Hunslet built in 1936 so that this engine can pull a TUT charter out of Huancayo on August 17th, 1999 for a few hours. Over at Puno, Peru the classic steamship Ollanta which was built in England in 1929 is back in service. It is used for charter work only for groups. TUT will charter this steamship for the day out of Puno on August 24th 1999. Out of Tacna on the Tacna & Arica Railroad Alco No. 93, a 2-8-0 built in 1914 will pull a TUT charter all the way to Arica, Chile and return on August 27 1999.
