When the Beira system passed to CFM, Rhodesia Railways took the opportunity to pass on the nine members of the 2-8-2 + 2-8-2 18th class Garratts. These were War Department locomotives and were later joined by three more from the Congo Ocean Railway. This is ex-RR 281, now 981, at Beira in August 1968. (BR)
