Safari Steam South

This is Beira shed in August 1968. In view are a cosmopolitan selection spanning nearly 50 years of steam construction: 2-10-2 218, 4-6-4 + 4-6-4 Garratt 927 and 4-8-0 12. Given that this section only passed into Portuguese ownership in 1949, it is not surprising that most of the locomotives here had previous owners. (BR)
