The mill at Caie had used a 3ft 0in (913mm) gauge railway and when a connection was built to Marromeu, the same definitely non-African gauge was adopted. It seems cane was then transferred down this new railway to Marromeu, but by July 1969 this had long ceased. This was the 3ft 0in shed area at Marromeu. (BR)
