The oldest of the Lorenço Marques shunters seen active were 0-10-0T built by Henschel in the 1930s. 64 was one of the oldest having been delivered in 1931. With through traffic so important, it was inevitable that most of the country's railways were built to the 'cape gauge' of 3ft 6in (1067mm). (BR)
