Ed McLaughlin used to be the General Manager of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad in the USA. He had an operating problem known as Cumbres Pass - 9 miles of 1 in 25 (4%). One evening over a few beers they came up with this idea to use the running gear of two unrestored ex D&RGW K-37 2-8-2's. Ignore the geographical error in the picture - Chama is still in New Mexico as it always has been!(Ed McLaughlin).
