You are never far from the sea in Java, but the beaches are few and far between. Most people say the roads can get a bit crowded but the shipping lanes must have the same problem with this number of fishing boats near Cirebon in West Java.
However, things are a lot quieter in East Java and this is the evening view from our hotel at Pasir Puteh:
