LCGB Locomotive Club of Great Britain
2008 PROGRAMME

LCGB is pleased to present to members some details of our Overseas Tours in 2008. The making up of the programme is never very easy with so many competing events some of which mean that dates are sometimes uncertain. During the course of 2008 more events and attractions will become known and we will be proposing tours to encompass these as and when details become firm.
Bookings for tours must be on an overseas tours booking form and may be sent in at any time to the tour organiser whose name follows the tour details. Fuller details and closing dates will be announced in news sheets during the course of the year. During the course of the year various weekend events become known and extra tours will be operated taking in the more interesting events.
All members are welcome on these tours but any friend or colleague who wishes to take part must become a member of LCGB or pay a surcharge for temporary membership. Click here for LCGB membership details.
Please send any tour enquiries where no email address is given to Adrian Palmer akpalmer@talktalk.net.

TOUR 9/08 JORDAN/SYRIA HEDJAZ September
2008
Regrettably we have decided not to proceed with this tour. Although we had steam agreed out of Aqaba it
would not be possible to run through to Amman. Additionally the train would not be able to go north of Amman as electrification and rebuilding work will have already started. Faced with these decisions the Overseas Tours Committee has decided to
withdraw this tour from the programme. COLIN MIELL

At the Overseas Tours Committee Meeting held on April 2nd it was decided to cancel this tour. INSURANCE
A condition of booking is that insurance cover is taken out. LCGB can arrange insurance cover just for a particular tour or a yearly policy at competitive rates. The club offers this insurance as a service to all members whether you take part in a tour or not. Rates are very competitive. What we do in fact is split the commission we obtain giving members a discount and at the same time adding to club funds. For full details of these arrangements contact Brian Garvin, email: brian_garvin@hotmail.com.
