Great North Steam Fair, (6th - 9th April, 2017)

The Northern Open Air Museum at Beamish is justly famous and is permanently host to many steam attractions including three short standard gauge railways and one narrow gauge one, plus steam gallopers and a working 19th century steam winder. However, they also now host an annual steam fair which attracts a fair number of road engines. We attended in 2015 and had a great time, but I felt that we should wait another year before we made the trek north again. However, Neil Edwards did attend on the Thursday and Friday, and I am grateful to him for the report which follows
