The International Steam Pages

Banbury (Bloxham) Steam Rally, (29th - 30th June, 2019)

This is one of a series of pages I have uploaded to illustrate facets of the steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Click here for the 2019 introduction and overall index.

The Saturday was the hottest day of the year and hard going although we opted out for nearly 4 hours in the middle of the day to visit a couple of National Trust properties nearby (Brownie Point time), hence there are no pictures of the Grand Parade when the sun would have been too high for effective photography. This is one of those rare shows where almost all the engines face south and are well spaced for photography although there seems to be little movement, last year's experimental playpen apparently abandoned.

There were 37 engines on display, I think the most I have seen here with 3 'not seen before' rollers for me. As always, I have to confess that one of the highlights of our day was the drive to and fro across the north Cotswolds which look splendid at this time of year.

David Collidge's Steam Scenes website (http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/) is a fount of information and was a great help in compiling these pages.
