Beijing Apartment to let for Summer Olympics, July/August 2008

We have a fully equipped 125 m² (wall to wall / interior area) 3 bedroom flat in Dashanzi in north-east Beijing which we are looking to rent out for the Olympic period. With a double bed and two single beds, it would particularly suit a family of 4.

Since we do not expect to be in Beijing between early July and late August 2008 it would be available before and after the event as well.

Silver Maple Garden is close to the Airport Expressway and the Dashanzi 798 arts area, approximately 15 minutes drive from the main Olympic stadium. Taxis are available one minute's walk away outside the (secure) area of the flat and (for those who are brave!) there are bus stops another minute away. There are supermarkets and other shops in Dashanzi within easy walking/cycling distance (2 bicycles are available).

The living room and bedrooms are fitted with air conditioners and there is a gas fired hot water boiler. The kitchen is fitted with a gas range and electric oven, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Below are some pictures, not shown is the guest bathroom which is simple with European toilet, washbasin and shower. The flat has separate air-conditioning units for the bedrooms and living room. There is an answerphone/fax and we have an ADSL broadband connection which needs only an Ethernet connection on a laptop, although we would be prepared to allow use of one of our computers. We have a small country house in the mountains just beyond the Great Wall access to which we would be prepared to include in the package.

The map below shows our location. The Airport Expressway runs from top middle to bottom right, the hatched road is Beijing's 5th ring road, the other major road shown is the 4th Ring Road. Because I am a railway enthusiast, the national railway museum is shown by a large red dot and our apartment block is the light blue dot directly to its left. The adjacent green area is a small public park shown below which is very pleasant to walk in (admission CNY 0.5!). The 798 Arts Area is immediately to the south and the shops are in the road that runs north/south next to it. The main Olympic venues are to the north-west off the map between the 4th and 5th Ring Roads.

This is a view of Silver Maple Garden from the park, but to be honest our flat is in the block on the right and we look out on the road! However, traffic noise is minimal owing to double glazing and the main bedrooms facing east. In fact the road is not very busy, it is not a main thoroughfare as the map shows.
