F1015

F1015

F1015 was constructed by Hanomag (7366/1915), other examples were built by Werkspoor. It was originally Staats Spoorwegen 815. This 2-12-2T had two outside cylinders 540 x 510 mm with driving wheel diameter of 1106 mm. Boiler pressure was 12.0 kg/cm2, grate area 2.6 m2 with a heating surface of 122.2 m2 and a superheater surface of 40.7 m2. Overall weight was 78.7 tons with 62.3 tons available for adhesion. F1015 is preserved at Taman Mini near Jakarta. In Java these locomotives were recorded in the far east of Java into the 1970s and some were delivered directly to West Sumatra where they worked until the mid 1970s. This particular example was transferred to West Sumatra from East Java in the early 1970s before coming back to Java for preservation and so is extremely well travelled!
